About Terrano

Who actually shows up

We are asking you to commit to a season of payments from a company in its first winter. You should want to know who is behind that — so here is how we operate, what you can check before you say yes, and why you are not exposed if you turn out to be wrong about us.

Terrano is new.
The people running it are not.

This is a first-season snow company, and we are not going to pretend otherwise by claiming decades on a plow. What we can tell you is that Terrano is run by someone who has built and operated Calgary businesses before — the unglamorous part where invoices are correct, insurance is in place before anyone starts work, somebody answers the phone, and the company is still there in February.

That is the part that usually fails in this trade. The clearing itself is honest physical work with a known standard: bare pavement, the sidewalk included, before the City’s clock runs out. The reason people get let down is rarely that a contractor could not push snow. It is that nobody picked up, the route was oversold, or the business was never really a business.

So we have built this the other way around — documented visits, published prices, a written agreement, a cancellation clause, and a route we cap on purpose. Judge us on that, and on whether the driveway is clear.

How we operate

Four things we hold ourselves to, and you can hold us to as well.

Our own crew, in our own vehicles

Nothing is handed to whoever is free that morning. The same people learn your property — where the gas meter is, which gate sticks, where the snow can go without killing the lawn in May.

Every visit documented

A time-stamped photo after every clearing, on every plan. You never have to take our word for whether we came, and neither does an insurer or a bylaw officer.

Priced from your actual property

We measure before we quote. The number you are given is the number you pay — no surprise additions in January when you have no practical way to switch.

We answer the phone in July

Snow, ice and grounds care from the same company, November 1, 2026 through October. Plenty of winter contractors are unreachable by May; the summer side of this business is why we are not.

What you can check before you pay

None of this is impressive on its own. It is the bare minimum, and the reason to list it is that plenty of operators cannot produce it when asked.

Commercial general liability

Certificate on request

Ask and it arrives the same day, naming you where your contract requires it. Ask whoever else you are considering, too — hesitation is an answer.

WCB Alberta

Clearance letter on request

Without coverage, a worker injured on your property can become your liability. This is the document that matters most and the one people forget to ask for.

Incorporated in Alberta

Terrano Property Services Inc.

A registered corporation with a business account and a tax number, not an arrangement with a truck and a cash app.

Written agreement

Plain English, before you pay

Response windows, what is included, what costs extra and how to cancel — all of it in writing and all of it on this site before you commit to anything.

If we turn out to be wrong about ourselves

The honest answer to “why trust a first-season company” is that you should not have to. You should be fine whether you trust us or not.

You are never far ahead of the service

Monthly on the 1st, spread across the season, with no large deposit. If we vanished in February you would be out one month, not a winter. That is the structure we would want as a customer, so it is the one we built.

You can leave on 30 days notice

Pro rata refund, less what has already been done. A contract you cannot get out of is not a service, it is a trap — and the ones that lock you in tend to be the ones that need to.

The bylaw guarantee is ours to lose

On Complete and Premium, if we miss our window and the City fines you for an uncleared public sidewalk, we pay the fine. A promise with money behind it is worth more than one without.

We say no when we should

If a season contract is the wrong call for your property, or your community has not reached the density to run a route honestly, we tell you and point you at the per-visit rate or the waitlist instead.

Ask us anything before you sign

Certificates, what happens in a 30 cm storm, why a contract might be the wrong call for your property, or what we do differently in April. Forty answers are already written down, and the phone works for the rest.
